The chic Cibo restaurant in Kensington London has been famous for serving the finest Italian traditional food for twenty years and still reigns supreme. It is to be found In the heart of Holland Park in Russell Gardens the soft glow welcoming diners into an intimate and beautifully appointed stylish interior. The tasteful decor created by its owner Gino Taddei is indicative of two decades of care and attention to detail from the large deep pottery dishes amber, green and blue to the colourful and original paintings on the walls giving a warmth and ambience to this elegant dining place which offers a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. Cibo's London a Restaurant for Birthdays & Other CelebrationsApart from the main dining area Cibo's has two semi-private rooms one with a large square table which seats a maximum of sixteen diners and the other with a long table that seats a maximum of ten, both of which are very popular for birthdays celebrations and other special occasions. Authentic Traditional Italian Cooking at Cibo RestaurantDiners paying homage to the gastronomic treat ahead at Cibo firmly established as one of the best Italian restaurants in London might do well to cut out lunch. Cibo "the Italian word for food" is exactly what you get; real nutrituous food, fresh from the kitchen. Echoes of Italian mammas mangia mangia as guests plunge their forks into generous portions of antipasti. Seafood Specialities & Pasta at Cibo RestaurantWhy not start with Carciofini in Tecia Con Aglio e Vino; baby artichokes cooked in wine and garlic a dish that signals an earthy and flavoursome beginning to a menu that welcomes traditional cuisine from the North and South of Italy. For those who love seafood either a terracota bowl filled with the plumpest juiciest mussels cooked in wine and spicy tomatoes or an incredible black pasta with lobster and clams absorbing all the sea food juices are not to be missed. Now for the main course Tagliata di Manzo con Rucola ed Aglio; tender beef fillet with roquette and roast garlic served with lightly cooked spinach. The individual tastes of the ingredients not over powered but enhanced by the cooked cloves of garlic. Another spectacular seafood dish Spaghetti all' Astiche simply Spaghetti with lobster's own sauce is "Cibo" at it's best. A small half lobster including its claw served with a lobster cracker gives pleasure to those diners handy with DIY tools. Cibo Restaurant's Fine Italian WinesTo accompany the meal the eclectic wine menu offers many bottles from the top regions of the Italian vineyards but specifically one that is recommended is the red Negroamaro Maseria Al Temura from the Salento region: a wine with a rich rustic taste of deep roasted plum and mocha toned fruit. There are many excellent white wines and also a lovely Rose from the Trentino region Lagrein Kretzer. Divine Desserts at Cibo RestaurantWhy choose one dessert when you can taste a selection. Cibo's super size platter arrrives groaning with delicious dolci! Tiramisu, white chocolate mousse with berries, white Panna Cotta with caramel, a chocolate Panna Cotta and a real favourite home-made amaretto and chocolate semifreddo layered with a sneeky amaretto filling. There are so many wonderful dishes on Cibo's menu that it will take quite a few return trips to sample them all! The average price for dinner per person is £35.
